Oakland County Foster Closet in Farmington Hills, MI is a 100% volunteer-run organization that provides clothing, shoes, hygiene products, school supplies, and so much more for foster, at-risk, adopted, and qualified low-income children. Everything goes to benefit the children they support.
In 2013, foster mom, Michele Austin opened a foster closet in her own home. Wishing to give other families access to items their foster kids were in need of, the closet grew rapidly. With a community happy to support the organization, Michele’s Closet grew into the nonprofit organization, Oakland County Foster Closet, making a direct positive impact on the families in their own neighborhoods and cities.
