About SendAFriend

Tyler Macke is a 2017 JHS graduate and founder of the local e-commerce company, SendAFriend. On a mission to spread love and positivity, Tyler launched SendAFriend right out of high school with less than $2,000 startup capital.

Skipping the traditional college route, Tyler's adorable stuffed animal brand has now generated over $10 million in revenue, and the company has donated over $1 million to non-profits since 2018.

To be considered for the SendAFriend Small Business Grant, please click "View Entry Details" and complete the application. You will be asked to use the prompt below and submit a typed essay of at least 500 words and provide at least two character references.

PROMPT: In a typed essay of 500 words or more, please provide a brief description of your small business idea. In your description, please answer the following questions. What is your business idea? How will this business make the world a better place? What is the core product or service you plan to offer and how will it positively impact your customers? How will consumers find your product/service? How do you plan to source your product?

Submissions will be collected through April 15, 2022, and reviewed by the SendAFriend team and JHS faculty. The $5000 SendAFriend Small Business Grant recipient will be announced by April 29, 2022.
