Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (SEMO-NASV) seeks to be an advocate for those affected by sexual trauma through the coordination of community services to provide professional, compassionate, and timely interventions and education. In an effort to stop abuse before it occurs, SEMO-NASV provides prevention education through its Green Bear Project. These programs are based on prevention research and teach preschool through 8th grade aged children personal safety techniques, train professionals on mandated reporting, and inform parents and community members on how to protect children from abuse.
The Green Bear Project would like to expand its program to include 9th-12th grades, with the implementation of The Green Bear Project High School Program. In an effort to help launch this program for the 2022-2023 school year, SendAFriend has made a donation of $5,000 to the organization.
